Roy Lautenbach

Roy Lautenbach, 67, passed away peacefully at his residence on September 9, 2026, surrounded by his family. Roy was born on July 16, 1959 in Passaic, NJ to Mrs. Theresia Strammar Lautenbach and the late Konrad Lautenbach. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Mrs. Helen Hintz Lautenbach.

Roy was of the Christian Faith. He worked for many years as a Diesel Mechanic, previous to his retirement. Roy was very active in the Chatham Rescue Squad where he served as Captain, and also proudly served and was an active member of the Callands Fire and Rescue for many years until a decline in health. Roy was a family man, that very much loved his wife, children, and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and Mother, Roy is survived by two sons; Eric Lautenback and Russell Lautenbach and wife Miranda both of Callands, VA; a daughter; Kristy Kofane and husband Brice of Waynesboro, VA; a brother; Roland Lautenbach (Tracey) of Raleigh, NC; a twin sister; Rosemarie Dipple (Floyd) of Frenchtown, NJ; five grandchildren; KayLeigh, Aaron, Konrad, Ava, and Xhander; and special dog; Lacy.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to a local fire and rescue organization in honor of Roy.

A Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 1:00pm at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA with Pastor Daryl Joyce officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Burial Park, Chatham, VA. A visitation will be conducted previous to the service on the same day from 11:30-1:00pm also at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA.
