Roy Thurmand Patterson

Roy Thurmand Patterson, 68, of everywhere Virginia, went home on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. He was born on September 29, 1956. He was a free spirit who rarely stayed in one place and had lots of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elva and Joyce Via Patterson; brother, Richard; sisters, Evelyn, Nancy, Shirley, and Nita; exwife, Theresa; granddaughter, Kelly Marie; and a lifelong best friend, Jimmy Bell.

Roy is survived by his children, Tonya Seidell (Brad), Tabby Patterson, R.T. Patterson (Kristina), Tim Patterson, Bessie Metcalf, and Harley Patterson-Highberger (Joseph); grandchildren, Tabitha, Tyler, Matthew, Ronnie, Davey (Leah), Christina, Maddy, Haley (Caleb), Joseph (MacKenzie), Larkin, Gabriel, Illiana, Luna, Zack, Issac, Haley, and Julio; great grandchildren, Evelyn, Ella, Tessa, Paisleigh, and Scarlett; exwife, Debbie Wertz; siblings, Beth Halterman, Lettie Patterson, and Vicky Sorrels (C.R.); and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He will be greatly missed by his family and all his animals, including the raccoon that stole his last supper.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3pm on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Roanoke First Church of the Brethren, 2001 Carroll Ave. NW Roanoke, VA 24017, presided by Pastor Dava Hensley.
