Ruby Wright Edwards

Ruby Wright Edwards, 91, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Ruby was born in Amherst, VA on December 9, 1933 to the late Herbert U. Wright and Inez Coffey Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell J. Edwards Sr., as well as her son, Marty Evans, and her daughter, Margaret “Dale” Eagle. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, William “Billy” Wright, Lloyd “Buddy” Wright, Philip W. Wright, Easter Taylor, Massie “Mitzi” Tyree, and Dolly Pritchett; her grandchildren Joshua Edwards, Jacob Edwards, Zachary Edwards, Samuel (Sammy) Evans, and great-granddaughter Ivy Evans Ruby was a wonderful and very talented upholsterer and made a career off this talent. She was a member of Poplar United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children, Geata Fitzgerald, Russell “Josh” Edwards Jr. (Debbie), Carter R. Edwards, Roger D. Edwards (Wendy), Andrew “Andy” Evans (Kicky), and Freddy Evans (Kristie). She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she cherished so much. A chapel service will be held at Driskill Funeral Chapel on Monday, March 17, 2025 at 2:00 PM with a one hour prior visitation. Burial is to follow the chapel service at Wright Family Cemetery (located near Shadow Ridge Golf Course). Rev. Nancy Johnson is officiating. Driskill Funeral Chapel is serving the family.
