Sam Blane Meade

Sam Blaine Meade, age 84, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026. He was born on May 13, 1942, to the late Archie Meade and Lillian Jessee Meade Johnson.

Sam was a faithful member of Goodwill Baptist Church and was well known for his hardworking nature and devotion to his family. He spent many years working in the furniture industry throughout Henry County before retiring.

In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lola Mullins Meade; his son, William Meade; three sisters; and two brothers.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Michael Meade (Phyllis), David Meade, and Greg Meade (Elizabeth); 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Bassett Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Pastor David Bishop Sr. will officiate. Interment will follow at Henry Memorial Park.
