Samuel "Gray" Ingram
Samuel “Gray” Ingram Jr. of Bassett, VA, and formerly of Martinsville, passed away on November 20, 2024, at the age of 62. Gray is predeceased by his parents, Samuel Gray Ingram, Sr. and Marie Burgess Ingram, both of Martinsville. He was a 1981 graduate of Martinsville High School and a 1984 graduate of Danville Community College, majoring in Electrical Electronics. Gray soon married and moved to North Carolina for a career opportunity with Nokia. He traveled all over the United States, Canada, and Mexico as a Quality Systems Auditor and later as a Purchasing Specialist. Gray was a loyal employee for 38 years before retiring in December of 2023. Gray was a quintessential outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, camping, bird hunting, and chasing that ever allusive perfect buck. He is survived by his daughters, Kristen Ingram Petty (Tejae) of Jacksonville, AR, and Ashley E. Ingram of Cary, NC; son, Nicholas G. Ingram of Rolesville, NC; grandsons, Wyatt J. Petty and Parker D. Petty of Jacksonville, AR; grand-daughter, Emily E. Petty of Jacksonville, AR; and former wife, Yvonne Neeley Ingram of Cabot, AR, formerly of Martinsville. Family and friends who loved Gray will miss him immensely. The Ingram family wishes to express a very special thank you to Bobby Lamm and his family for their help in this difficult time.
The visitation will be held from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel, with Minister Alan Harmon officiating. Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Burial Park in Martinsville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
