Samuel Riley Cannaday, Sr., 72, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024. He was born April 22, 1952, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Riley Hoover Cannaday and Mary Chitwood Sizemore.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Abbott Cannaday; son, Samuel Riley Cannaday, Jr.Samuel was a Member of Vision Assembly of God Church. He loved fishing, camping, and anything outdoors.He is survived by his sisters, Teresa Huff and Tina Jones, brother, Dan Cannaday; and grandchildren, Alexis Lewis (Richard), Gage Craig, Alyssa Abbot, and Ashley Bryant.The funeral will be Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Jennifer Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
