Sandra Bayse Beard

Sandra Bayse Beard, 80, of Roanoke passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025. She was the daughter of the late John E. Bayse and Margaret Shelton Bayse. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Lee Beard and her sister Delores Robertson.

Sandi is survived by her children, Timothy, “Tim” Beard (Sharon) and Wendi Beard Stevenson (Kenny); brothers, Jerry F. Bayse (Becky), Michael F. Bayse (Alice), and sister Tammy Bayse Pimm; treasured and adored grandchildren, Brittney Beard Jarratt (Blake) “Finn” Emily Sandra Stevenson and Sarah Marie Stevenson and numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

The family would like to thank Carilion Hospice and nursing staff at Honeysuckle Cottage (Richfield) for the tender love and care shown for their mother as well as the support to the family.

Sandi retired from Carilion where she ran the gift shops to care for her husband and she was a long-time member of Red Hill Baptist Church. She was the sweet and loving mom in the neighborhood where every child was welcome. The backyard was always full of kids playing ball or other games while she was passing out sandwiches and Kool-Aid. 

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon prior to the graveside service, at Lotz Funeral Home, 1001 Franklin Road, Roanoke. A graveside service celebrating Sandra’s life will be held 1:00 pm, Tuesday, April 22, 2025. At Old Dominion Memorial Gardens with Pastor Brian Geiser officiating.
