Sandra Lea Williamson Dixon, 85, of Amherst, Virginia passed away on Monday, July 21, 1940 surrounded by her loving family. Sandra was born on June 11, 2025 in Burlington, North Carolina to the late Theodore Walter Williamson and Frances Cole Williamson of Thomasville, North Carolina. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Henry Cecil Dixon of Amherst, Virginia. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Wilmer (Glenn) of Monroe, Virginia; her daughter Sherri Temple (Gene) of Amherst, Virginia. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Christopher Wilmer (Ellen) of Blue Ridge, Virginia; her granddaughter Jordan Rockwell of Lynchburg, Virginia. She also leaves her great-grandchild, Morgan Wilmer of Blue Ridge, Virginia. She also leaves behind her sister Linda Leonard (Mike) of Thomasville, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Williamson of Trinity, North Carolina. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Glenda Williamson of Thomasville, North Carolina. Sandra was an active member of First Baptist Church of Monroe for many years. She very much enjoyed the fellowship of her church family and especially appreciated the members that visited with her after she was unable to attend. She served for several years on the Amherst Rescue Squad Women’s Auxiliary. Sandra retired from Amherst Motors after 28 years of service where she worked in the office doing title work. She enjoyed her family, and get-togethers were frequent, as she wanted to be surrounded by them as much as possible. The family would like to thank her kind caregivers during her last months. She received great care from her hospice team, as well as the staff at Fairmont Crossing. The family appreciates the professionalism and compassion everyone showed her. A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, July 28, 2025 at 11:00 AM with a one hour prior visitation at Driskill Funeral Chapel. Burial is to follow at Amherst Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider giving donations the Amherst Rescue Squad Women’s Auxiliary or First Baptist Church of Monroe. Reverend Nancy Johnson will be officiating. Becky Bryant will be providing music. The family requests those in attendance show up in casual attire. Norris Funeral Services – Driskill Chapel is serving the family.
