Sandra Lee Barnes

Sandra Lee Barnes, 77, of Danville, VA passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023. Mrs. Barnes was born November 15, 1945, to the John Andrews and the late Margie Parr Andrews. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Ralph “Billy” Barnes.

Mrs. Barnes was a founding member of New Testament Baptist Church in Danville. She also proudly served her country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. She enjoyed spending time with her family and spreading her love and wisdom to all who needed it.

She is survived by her sons, Ralph W. Barnes, Jon D. Barnes, and Eric L. Barnes; brother, Donald Andrews; sisters, Margaret A. Higdon, and Laura Standfield; grandchildren, Jessica Barnes, Christopher Barnes, Emily Barnes, Robert Barnes, Shawn Barnes, and Stephanie Barnes; great-grandchildren, Casey L. Shelton, Allie Point, Jeremiah Lopez, Gracie Crawford, Dawn Love, Lewis Love, Levi McClary, and Odin Barnes; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside military rites will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Salisbury National Cemetery. There will be a celebration of life held in Danville at a later date.
