Sandra S. Jamison

Sandra Spencer Jamison, 79, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away peacefully at Franklin Health and Rehab on August 23, 2026. She was born on September 30, 1946, to the late Robert Raymond Spencer and Lizzie Joyce.

Sandra was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family held a special place in her heart. She was a woman who dedicated much of her life to caring for others and building a life centered around her family and community.

After graduating from high school, Sandra attended nursing school, where she earned her nursing degree and became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She went on to work for Morehead Memorial Hospital, now known as UNC Rockingham Health Care, for 15 years. Her caring nature and dedication to helping others were evident throughout her nursing career.

Sandra later enjoyed a career in retail. She purchased jewelry for The Jewel Box and also worked for JCPenney. Through her various careers, she touched the lives of many people and was known for her dedication and work ethic.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved sons, Christopher Zane “Chris” Jamison and Shannon G. Jamison; and her brother, William Karlton Spencer.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Mark A. Jamison; her four grandchildren, Shane D. Jamison, Leelyn C. Jamison, Breanna N. Clark, and Jon S. Jamison; and her four great-grandchildren, Jamison H. Clark, Isla R. Clark, Lucas G. Clark, and Lily R. Jamison.

Sandra will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on through the love she shared with her family, the lives she touched throughout her years of caring for others, and the generations who will carry her memory forward.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 P. M to 7:00 P.M. on September 1, 2026 with a memorial service following at 7:00 at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. The Interment will be held at Old Center Primitive Church.
