Shannon Dale Hodges

Shannon Dale Hodges, age 49 of Henry passed away after a hard battle with cancer on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born February 3, 1974 in Rocky Mount, VA to Robert and Jill Gravely Hodges. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Cooper Gravely, John Wesley Hodges and Virginia Wade Hodges.

Shannon graduated from Franklin County High School, class of 1993. He was married to his loving wife, Sarah for 24 years. At his time of death, he worked at ProAmpac for 20 years. He enjoyed his time with his golf buddies, Ivy Jay Layman and Todd Philpott Jr. He also enjoyed the beach, football and spending time with family and friends.

Shannon is survived by his wife, Sarah Bryant Hodges; daughter, Kayla Hodges; parents, Robert Hodges (Peggy) and Jill Hodges; brother, John Hodges (Robin); sister, Danielle Hudson (Lujack); father-in-law, Ralph Bryant; mother-in-law, Renee Bryant; and sister-in-law, Erin Gregory (Kevin); nieces and nephews, Paisley Hylton, Avery, Levi, Noah, Paige and Silas Hodges, Brayden and Alayla Hudson; and special friends, Adam, Alicia and Parker Roop.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at New Vision Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Town Creek Church Cemetery. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at New Vision. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
