Shannon Patrick Lacy

Shannon Patrick Lacy, 56, of Roanoke, VA, passed peacefully at home on May 28, 2024 after an extended battle with cancer.

He was born in Roanoke on October 26, 1967, to Joyce Dillon Foster. Shannon graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1986, before going on to proudly serve in the United States Navy.

Shannon was preceded in death by his mother Joyce Dillon Foster and stepfather Frank Foster and is survived by his significant other of 15 years Lynn Tillman Meadows; sisters Constance Hale, Andrea Melton (Leon), Sandra Shank (Boyd), Katherine Bishop (Jim); brother Mark Hobson (Sharon); and many nieces and nephews. Additionally, he is survived by his two dearest friends Gary Pratt and Jeannine Anderson Creger and beloved dog Drucilla Marie Lacy.

Family and friends will remember Shannon’s sense of humor, Irish pride, and his courage and strength during five year battle with cancer.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 31 from 12:00 – 2:00 pm at Simpson Funeral Home with a service to follow at the same location. Simpson Funeral Home is located at 5160 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, VA 24019.
