Sharon Elaine Light

Sharon Elaine Stanley Light, 76, of Salem, Virginia. is now in the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ, as of Thursday, December 14, 2023. Born in Roanoke, Virginia, on July 7, 1947, to the late Dimple Perkins Turman.

Sharon loved and adored her rescued Pitbulls. She was most proud of returning to college as an adult student and graduating with a degree as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) at the age of 59. Sharon’s strong work ethic and servant’s heart made her leader in the medical office in which she served, so much so that she affectionately called in “my office.” She exhibited amazing tenacity and strength as she valiantly fought the ravages of cancer. She loved well, was an inspiration to many, and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Thomas Light, Jr and wife, Tammie, Terry Light, James Light, and Robert Light and wife, Laura; grandchildren, Danielle Aquafresca, Sierra Boynton, Sydney Light, Skyler Light, Zach Light, Raleigh Light, Archer Light, Edward Light, and Alex Medeiros.

The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to Sarah Horne and Jennifer Horne for their compassionate and loving care throughout Sharon’s illness.
