Shawn Smith

Mr. Shawn Eugene Smith, age 41, of Covington, died Thursday, September 26, 2024, at VCU Medical Center-MCVH, Richmond.
Mr. Smith was born August 3, 1983 in Virginia, the son of the late Larry Author Smith and Jerry Dianna May Smith Windsor. A lifetime resident of this community, he had been employed by Chapman Plumbing and Heating. Shawn was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting, fishing and just being outside. He was the life of the party.
Mr. Smith is survived by a daughter, Jaylen Nicole Smith; two step-sisters, MaryAnne Bennett of Lisbon, FL and Jennifer Tobias of Hope Mills, NC; three step-brothers, Roman Windsor, Timothy Windsor and Andrew Windsor; two uncles, Dale May and Daniel May; five cousins, Mandy Powell of Covington, Misty May of Covington, Terra May of Roanoke, John May of North Carolina and Crystal May of Covington; and mother of his child, Hannah Smith.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Sylvia May and Cynthia May; his grandfather, John Clinton May, II; his stepfather, Carl Runyon; an aunt, Belinda May; uncles, Roger May and John Clinton, May, III; and a cousin, John T. May;
A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Friday, October 4, 2024 at Good News Church On Main, Covington.
