Sheila Mae Scearce, 72, of Danville, VA, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Sheila lived a life rooted in faith, family, and kindness.

Born on September 29, 1953, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Agnes and Paul Warner and was one of five siblings. She shared lifelong bonds with her sisters Joan, Pat, and Deborah, and her late brother, Paul. Sheila’s deep devotion to her faith guided her life, and her family takes comfort knowing she is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Kenneth Foster Scearce, who preceded her in death in 2019, and she was also predeceased by her beloved nephew, Tom Powers.

Sheila worked for many years in the Child Nutrition department of Danville Public Schools, remembered for her kind spirit and dedication. Yet, her greatest joy was time spent at home with family. Known for her boundless hospitality, Sheila created a home where warmth, love, and the comforting aroma of a home-cooked meal always greeted you. She found joy in caring for others, filling her home with family, friends, and the faithful companionship of her beloved dog, Annie.

Sheila is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Goble, and husband Billy; her stepchildren Lee Scearce and wife Michelle, and Sandy Lutton. She was “Nana” to seven grandchildren: Kaitlin Hyler and husband Justin (children Jace, Lucus, Kinsley), Cameron Goble and Carlie, Ashlyn Pruett and husband Allan (children Averie, Olivia, Odin), Lane Scearce, Jack, Lillian, and Luke Lutton; and a proud great-grandmother to six.

Sheila shared a special bond with her nephew Kenny, whose presence brought joy, laughter, and comfort to her throughout the years. Kim and the family extends heartfelt thanks to Pat, Joan, Kenny, her nurse Laura Swift, and her caretaker, Mentoria Graves for their love and care during her final days, ensuring she was comforted and surrounded by family.

Sheila’s legacy of faith, generosity, and love will be cherished by all who knew her.
