Shelvia "Jean" Brooks

Shelvia “Jean” Brooks, 86, of Roanoke passed away on October 22, 2024.

A native of Virginia she was the wife of the late Herman Ray Brooks, who was the love of her life, and the daughter of Delmus Buck and Gay Waldron Buck, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her sister Shirley Buck Kidd and four furry babies, Andy, Morris, Molly, and Gidget. Jean worked for more than 40 years at Davidsons Clothing for Men.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two nieces, Karen Kidd and Jennifer Meador and husband Doug; and two great nephews, Wesley Meador and Luke Meador.

A private burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Our Lady of the Valley for their care and compassion and would especially like to thank Steve who brought a twinkle to Jean’s eye.
