Shirley Finney Barbour

Shirley Finney Barbour, age 88, of Martinsville, Va. passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024. She was born in Pittsylvania County, Va. August 31, 1935 to D.T. Finney and Pearl Johnston Finney.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by the love of her life, which was her loving husband of 70 years, E. Wilson Barbour. She always considered him the best husband she could have ever had and she loved every minute she spent with him. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Renford Finney and George Thomas Finney.

Shirley is survived by her brother, Steve Finney; daughters, Sharon Meeks and Pam Harrison; grandchildren, Darron (Jen Saksun) Meeks, Mandy (Matthew) Robinson, Brad (Megan Martin) Harrison and Amber (Nicholas) Fuller; 10 great grandchildren.

Shirley retired after working 30 years as a bank teller at Crestar Bank. She loved spending time with her family and taking care of her husband. She also enjoyed reading and baking food for her family.

A funeral service for Shirley will be held Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 1:00 PM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home and will be officiated by Minister Tim Woods and Chaplain Rick Poland. An interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.

The family is very appreciative of Carilion Hospice for the excellent care they provided for Shirley.

Serving as pallbearers will be Darron Meeks, Brad Harrison, Nicholas Fuller, Landon Williams, Matthew Robinson and Benjamin Williams.
