Shirley Jean Wagoner

Shirley Brown Wagoner, 73, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Sovah Health – Martinsville. She was born on July 25, 1951, in Patrick County, Virginia, to the late Alvis Pendleton and Geneva Pendleton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Raymond L. Brown, who passed away hours before his mother; her great-grandchild, Raymond A. Stevens; and three brothers, Ronnie Brown, Curtis Brown, and Leonard Brown.

Shirley was a devoted member of New Hope Church of the Brethren and a passionate fan of Elvis Presley. She retired from Bassett Mirror after many years of dedicated service.

She is survived by her sons, Ron Wagoner (Tammy) and Robert Wagoner; two grandchildren, Niki Brown and Alex Brown; one great-grandchild, Stacey Ray Roosevelt Sweatman; daughter in law, Renia M. Brown; and her beloved dog, Spook. She also leaves behind special friends, Randall Manely, Shyane Marie, Makayla Milligan, and Earl Penn; along with several sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
