Shirley Marie Simpkins

Shirley Marie Simpkins, 64, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024. She was born January 29, 2024, in Chatham, Virginia, to Evelina Gibson Ratcliff and the late Russell Bernard.In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by son, Timothy Simpkins.Shirley was a dedicated employee of Bassett Walker for more than 15 years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and riding on the Harley Davidson with her son. She loved to dance anywhere and everywhere, even in competitions.She is survived by her mother, Evelina Gibson Ratcliff; son, Jerry Hiatt (Katherine); sister, Trish Bernard; and six grandchildren.All services will be private.Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
