Shirley Ramsey Gilbert

Shirley Ramsey Gilbert, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful woman of God, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. She loved her family immensely and had a deep and unwavering faith in Jesus. She will be deeply missed, but reminders of her faith and love will continue through in those she leaves behind.

Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Katherine Ramsey Philpott, Father, Tenny Kelton Ramsey, Mother Eva Craig Bryant; and her adored great-grandson, Konner Giarla.

Shirley was member of Oak Level Baptist Church. She dedicated her life as a registered nurse caring for others. In her spare time, Shirley enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought her happiness. She loved gardening, cherished her dogs, and treasured time spent with her family.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Glen Justus Gilbert; her two children, Daryl Cannaday (Karen) and Glennda Morse (Tommy); three grandchildren, Kristen Giarla (Jonathan), Caitlyn Cannaday, and Zachary Morse; and three great-grandchildren, Matthew Giarla, Hudson Giarla, and Noah Giarla.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Will Tom Ramsey Family Cemetery, 2277 Fairfield Road Henry, Virginia 24102 with Pastor Jeff Pendelton officiating.
