Shirley Wade

Mrs. Shirley Jean Wade, 87, of Fieldale, VA transitioned on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at her home.  She was born June 6, 1938 a daughter of the late John and Pencie Hagwood Wade.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, William Decarlo Wade, one sister, May Theron, and three brothers, Hardin, James and Homer Wade.

She was a member of Meadow Christian Church (DOC) where she was the former church secretary, and was retired from the Bassett Post office in the janitorial department.

She is survived by her two brothers, Eulis Wade, of Ferrum, VA and MacArthur Wade of Greenwood, SC; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A serviice of celebration will be held Saturday December 20, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Hines Funeral Services Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Hooker, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hairston Family Cemetery in Fieldale, VA.  The family will receive friends one half hour prior the the funeral and will be at the home at other times at 434 Patrick Avenue in Fieldale, VA.  A public viewing will be held Friday, December 19, 2025 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at Hines Funeral Services.
