Stephanie Carter

Stephanie Carter, 42, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away on September 26, 2026. She was born on March 4, 1984, in Bluefield, West Virginia, to Margie Tina Lee and the late Elmer Carter.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son, Aiden; brother; Jason Carter; her paternal grandparents, Harold and Pinky Carter of Panther, West Virginia; and her maternal grandparents, Laura and Ance Cline of Panther, West Virginia.

Stephanie spent her early childhood in Bluefield, where she grew up alongside her younger brother, Jason. In 1992, Stephanie and her family moved to Bassett, Virginia, where she would continue to grow and build a life.

Family was extremely important to her and remained a cornerstone in her life. Stephanie had a caring heart and loved deeply. Those closest to her knew her as a source of strength and a rock for the people around her. She had a genuine desire to care for the special people in her life and was always willing to be there when someone needed her.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her five children she birthed, Hailey, Madison, Cody, Peyton, and Jace; sister, Amy Lee; nephews, Sean Hopkins and Sebastian Hopkins; stepfather, Michael Lee; father of the children, Chris Hardin; and a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Although services will be private, the family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and care shown during this time of grief.
