Stephanie Hooker McDonald

Stephanie Hooker McDonald of Danville , VA, born July 4, 1975 spreaded her wings on September 1, 2025 at the age of 50. She was surrounded by her loving family in her final moments.

Stephanie was the daughter of Shirley Adkins Hooker and Thomas Harvey Hooker. She was a dedicated mother to Mari McDonald, Hannah Elliott, and Glynda McDonald and spent 26 wonderful years with her husband, George McDonald.

She is survived by her brothers Thomas Lee Hooker (Donna) and William Hooker (Alicia) and sisters Tammy Moore (Mike), and Billie Jo Owens, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Mari McDonald, her sister Tracey Hutcherson and her brother-in-law A.J. Moore.

Stephanie graduated with honors at Danville Community College with an associates degree in Liberal Arts, and studied Journalism at Averett University. She loved spending time with her husband and children. She had a creative mind, and spent a lot of time crocheting, writing, and other various different crafts. She also thoroughly enjoyed sitting outside and listening to music. She was a Christian and knew her daughter was waiting for her in heaven.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA., with Calvin Hooker officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m.
