Bailey, Stephen Cory “Steve”

Stephen Cory “Steve” Bailey, 63, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Sunday, October 27, 2024.

Steve was a volunteer with Read Mountain Volunteer Fire Department for many years. There he earned the nickname “Thor”. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Titan America (Roanoke Cement) for twenty seven years where he made lifelong friendships.

Surviving is his wife, Sherri Luckado Bailey; sons, Coty Bailey and Jeremy Bailey; daughter, Kelsey Luckado; mother-in-law, Betty Rotenberry; brother-in-law, Jesse Luckado (Karyn); one niece and two nephews; and friends too numerous to mention.

Funeral services will be conducted Noon Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Simpson Funeral Home. 540 366 0707
