Steven Paul Chappell

Steven Paul Chappell, 55, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. He was born on January 21, 1971, in Martinsville, Virginia, to Elizabeth Ann Stanley Chappell and the late James Paul Chappell, Jr.

Steven was a graduate of Martinsville High School. He was employed by Comcast for ten years.

He was a true people person who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He shared an especially close bond with his mother and treasured the time they spent together. Steven also enjoyed visiting his neighbors, caring for animals, and relaxing at the beach.

He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Chappell; one sister, Sherry Vaughan (Brian); one brother, Scott Lewis Chappell; nephews, Keith Vaughan (Haley) and Brandon Vaughan (Kylie); great nieces, Emily Vaughan and Lizzie Vaughan; great nephew, Dylan Vaughan; beloved dog, Rosie; host of cousins, other family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service – Martinsville Chapel.
