Sylbia "Sib" Lucille (Sloan) Wray

Sylbia Lucille (Sloan) Wray "Sib", age 95 of Rocky Mount passed away Friday, July 31, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Arthur Wray. As well as her parents, Jim Ed Sloan and Maude Leticia (Cooper) Sloan; sister, Ruby Sloan Sigmon and brother, Jim Ed Sloan, Jr. “Pete”. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Denna Wray; son, Barry Arthur Wray (Mina); grandchildren, James H. Wright (Stephanie), Maxwell Sloan Wright (Sarah), Danielle Ray Shough, Juan Jose Wray, and Victor Manuel Wray; great-grandchildren, Madison Lynn Meadow and Adaline Grace Wright; sister, Nellie Sloan Russell; sister-in-law, Phyllis Rigney; aunt and best friend, Hettie Radford; special longtime companion, her white cat “Baby”; and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Stephanie Wright and Lucinda Scruggs for the special help you provided during these last few months, it was very much appreciated by the family. Funeral services will be held at Rocky Mount Covenant Brethren Church, 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2026 with Pastor John Collins and Chaplain Bobby Pickle officiating. Interment will follow in Cooper Family Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Arraignments by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
