Sylvia Cooper Hodges

Mrs. Sylvia Cooper Hodges, age 80 of Ridgeway, VA passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025 after a decline in health.

Sylvia was born on October 1, 1944 in Franklin County, VA to George Willie Cooper and Elizabeth “Goldie” Meeks Cooper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons; Donald Hodges, Ricky Hodges, Brian Hodges and one brother, Gerald Cooper. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by a son, Gary Lee Hodges (Brenda), one sister, Francis Ashby (Jimmy), four grandchildren; Samantha Chapman (Scott), Elizabeth Zimmerman (Robert), Donnie Hall and Ashley Hodges, four great grandchildren; Clara Chapman, Moira Chapman, Alesha Zimmerman and Callie Zimmerman.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, VA with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Ridgeway, VA.
