Sylvia Hunt Gibson

Sylvia Hunt Gibson, age 84 passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Roman Eagle Nursing Home. Ms. Gibson was born December 1, 1939 in Lynchburg, Virginia to the late Eldridge Thomas Hunt, Sr. and the late Zelma Dobyns Hunt. She was married to the late Walter Gibson.

She was a member of Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church where she sang in the choir and was in the women’s ministry. She was a registered nurse and worked for Roman Eagle until her retirement, and was a member of the Dry Fork Fire Department axillary.

She is survived by her loyal friends, Sandra H. Jones, and her husband Raymond; stepchildren; step-grandchildren; one niece, and four nephews; her special friends, Garland and Lois Wells; and other friends.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, Eldridge Thomas Hunt, Jr.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, April 1, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Norris Funeral Service, Mt. Hermon Chapel with Pastor Gerald Kelly, and Pastor Roger Collins officiating.
