Sylvia Lorraine Perkins

SYLVIA LORRAINE PERKINS, age 92, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2005, at Giles Memorial Hospital. She was born June 2, 1932 in Pearisburg, VA, the daughter of the late Edward & Dolly Burtin Perkins.

Sylvia spent her life taking care of her family, and had a passion for flowers, especially roses. Her yard is full of rose bushes. She had a talent for making cakes for her family on holidays. She was kind and generous to a fault.  She loved her family, friends and most of all, her God.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Edward James and Dolly Kate Burton Perkins, her brother, James Perkins, her sister, Dorothy Perkins and a niece, Karen Perkins Poff.

Left to cherish her memory are her brothers & sister-in-law, Edward (“Jack”) & Ella Sue Perkins and Elwood Perkins, all of Pearisburg; her sister-in-law,  Judy Perkins, of Pearisburg; her nephews, Darrell & Donna Perkins, Pearisburg and Ellis & Sherri Perkins, Ripplemead; her niece, Sheila Perkins Boulden, Staffordsville; several great-nephews and great-nieces; and special friends and relative, Wayne & Linda Perkins and Dustin & Kelly Burton.

A private graveside service is planned for Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the Burton Cemetery.
