Sylvia Manning

Sylvia Manning, born October 19, 1939, in Floyd, Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, in the comfort of her loving home, with her devoted nephew and caregiver, Tim Radford, by her side. Sylvia was a hardworking woman throughout her life. She spent many years working in factory employment before earning her retirement. She understood the value of an honest day's work, perseverance, and making the most of the life she was given. Above all, Sylvia loved the Lord and loved her family. Her faith was an important part of who she was and remained a source of comfort and strength throughout her life. The final three years of Sylvia's life became a particularly special chapter. She lived with her loving nephew, Tim Radford, who lovingly cared for her and became her traveling companion. Together, Sylvia and Tim traveled through multiple states, visited new places, saw new things, and shared experiences that created memories Tim will treasure for the rest of his life. Those years were about much more than traveling. They were about companionship, family, laughter, everyday moments, and making sure Sylvia continued to experience and enjoy life. The bond they shared was one of love, devotion, and friendship, and it remained strong until her final moments at home. Sylvia is survived by her daughters, Patricia Snodgrass and Sandra Trail; her brother, Billy Radford; her loving nephew and caregiver, Tim Radford; and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with extended family and friends who will cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her son, Junior Trail, and her brothers, Shelton Radford, Bobby Radford, and Ray Radford. Shelton was the oldest of the siblings, while Ray was the youngest. Sylvia's life cannot be measured simply by the years between her birth and passing. It is better measured by the people she loved, the work she did, the family she raised, the places she traveled, the memories she created, and the lives she touched along the way. Those fortunate enough to have known Sylvia will remember a hardworking Virginia woman who loved the Lord, loved her family, and continued experiencing life and making memories throughout her later years. On August 13, Sylvia's earthly journey came to a peaceful close in the place she knew as home, with someone who loved and cared for her beside her. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 PM Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bud Nichols officiating. Burial will be private.
