Sylvia "Penny" Ratcliff

Sylvia Gwenonia “Penny” Ratcliff, 69, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away Monday, January 23, 2023, at her home. She was born October 8, 1953, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Arnold Ratcliff and Elley Marie Crowder Ratcliff. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Roger Ratcliff; sisters, Nancy McCoy and Star Lynn Quesenberry; brother, Teddy Ratcliff; and granddaughter, Alana Triplett. She was a CNA for over 34 years and was a member of TRASH Ministries. She enjoyed horses, the beach, mountains and her grandchildren. Penny is survived by her son, Stacey Triplett (Jill); sisters, Della “Katie” Hutcherson and Sarah Gilman; brothers, Mike Ratcliff (Brenda), Arnold Ratcliff, Jr. and David Ratcliff (Judy); and grandchildren, Nydia Triplett, Braxton Triplett, Elley Triplett and Piper Murray. The memorial service will be Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 3:30 PM at Christ Church, Spruce Street Extension, Martinsville, Virginia. Burial will be private.
