Ted Lee Manning

Ted Manning, age 82, passed away peacefully on July 4th, 2026.

Ted Manning was a local legend in the marksmanship community in Southwest Virginia, winning many competitions and a world record in 1977. In addition to Ted’s impact on the marksmanship community, Ted additionally helped pour concrete for many structures throughout the Roanoke Valley during his career, further illustrating his significant contributions to the Roanoke and Salem communities.

Ted Manning is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Mary Manning; his two children, James Manning and Lisa Manning; and his two grandchildren, Brandon Franklin and Victoria Franklin. Ted was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Franklin, who passed away in 2023.

Ted Manning requested not to have a funeral service, and the family is instead asking for friends and family to email memories, stories, and pictures of Ted to tedmanningmemories@gmail.com.
