Teresa Akers

Teresa Carol Akers, 76, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed peacefully on August 5th, 2026, at her home in Martinsville, Virginia. She was born December 21st, 1946, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Lucy Padgett Tuttle and the late Hobart Tuttle Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Cody (J.C) Akers; stepson Adam Cody Akers; sisters Frances Vaughn, Sara Taylor, Donna Tuttle, and Debra Mize, and brothers J.T. Tuttle and Larry E. Tuttle.

Teresa is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Keisha Wilson of Collinsville, and a daughter, Amy Hodges; two granddaughters, Nyah Wilson of Collinsville and Amanda White; and one grandson, Michael Hodges of Rocky Mount; three great-grandchildren; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lorri and Edward Gilly of Fieldale, Toni Mize of Bassett, Terri and Mike Mays of Fieldale, and Linda Cassell of Bassett; two brothers, Hobart Tuttle Jr. of North Carolina and David Tuttle of Ridgeway.
