Teresa Reni Carte

Ms. Teresa Reni Carte, age 60, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday, February 2, 2024, at Northern Regional Hospital. She was born, December 17, 1963, in Surry County, to the late Robert Ray Carte Sr. and the late Gertrude Arbutus Honaker Carte. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Charlene Carte. Teresa had such a caring, loving spirit and personality. She has a big heart for Jesus, her family and friends. She loved her animals, going camping, being at the river and fishing. She enjoyed having fun and making those wonderful memories with loved ones. She had a big love for music, and she loved to dance to that music.

Teresa was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all that knew her. Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Christina Reni Nixon (Curtis Ayers)); her son, Randy Fred Nixon (Margarita); stepdaughter, Maddie Jackson (Caleb Jackson); her grandchildren, Torin, Ravan, Athena, Lillian, and Seayra, Carter, Mason, Oden and Ares; and her brother, Robert Carte Jr. (Tina). Visitation will be Friday, February 9, 2024, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Flat Top Primitive Baptist Church. Services will begin at 2:00 PM, in the church, with Rev. Marty Reece officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses. Moody-Davis Funeral Service is serving the Carte family.
