Theresa Hypes Reed

Theresa Hypes Reed, age 65, of Christiansburg went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 14, 2019, at New River Valley Medical Center. She was born in Christiansburg on May 11, 1953 to the late Robert Peck and Louise Dobyns Hypes. She was a member of Blacksburg Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Theresa retired from Virginia Tech after over 30 years of service. She enjoyed the Senior Program at Christiansburg Recreation Center. She is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Rhonda Hypes, Steve and Kathy Hypes, two nieces, Stephanie York and husband, C.J., Lori Chepan and husband, Brian, nephew, Justin Hypes and wife, Lindsey, 7 great nieces and nephews, uncle and aunt, Bill and Elaine Dobyns, uncle, Billy Hypes, special cousin, Randy and Cathy Ogle and their children. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Friday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg, Va.
