Thomas Earl Young

Thomas “Sonny” Earl Young Jr., 90, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Thomas was born on October 25, 1934 in Danville, VA to the late Carrie Harris Young and the late Thomas Earl Young Sr. He was also predeceased by his loving wife of many years, Mrs. Ruby Lee Wilson Young.

Thomas was of the Baptist Faith, and worked for many years as a truck driver previous to his retirement. He loved to play softball and was a avid NASCAR and Major League Baseball fan.

Thomas is survived by three daughters; Pat Kiser (Kevin), Kim Young (Don) and Adena Young (JR); a son; Thomas Young; five grandchildren; Vance Kiser, Kyle Kiser, Kimber Young, TJ Young, and Annah Young; eight great grandchildren; Eli Kiser, Paxton Kiser, Palmer Kiser, Kaden Kiser, Jaxon Young, Abbella Young, Logan Young, and Sky Young.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by two sisters; Kathryn Godwin and Martha Younger.

A Visitation to receive friends and family will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025 from 6-7:00pm at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA 24540.
