Thomas Jeffrey Davis

April 23, 1959 - April 21, 2026

Thomas Jeffrey “Jeff” Davis, 66, of Monroe passed away surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. He was the son of the late Thomas Jasper Davis and Joanne Nuckols Davis.

Born April 23, 1959, Jeff lived a life grounded in simple, meaningful pleasures. He had a deep love for the outdoors, where he spent many seasons hunting deer and turkey and casting a line for trout with his family. Those days, those early mornings, quiet woods, and shared laughter were among the things he held closest to his heart. He enjoyed relaxing just as much, often with his cold Diet Dew in hand, taking in the moment and the company around him.

Jeff never tired of a good western movie and could happily watch them over, and over again, finding comfort in their stories. He wasn’t one for extravagance; instead, he found his greatest happiness in the everyday; especially in the loyal companionship of his beloved dog, River. Whether they were out in the fresh air or simply sitting together, those quiet times meant everything to him.

He will be remembered for his steady presence, his appreciation for life’s simple gifts, and the way he made those around him feel at ease. Jeff was deeply loved by family and friends, and his memory will live on in the stories shared and the moments remembered.

Those left to cherish Jeff’s memory include his children Mary Elizabeth Davis, Justin Davis and his wife Megan, Robert Davis and his wife Ashley, Thomas Christian Davis and his wife Christina; his grandchildren Alyssa Adams, Kaylee Davis, Joslyn Davis, Ashton Adcock, Lakelyn Davis, Kyzer Davis, Cash Davis, Thomas Ayden Davis, with one more little boy on the way; his sister June Davis Loving and her husband Charles; his nephews Jaime Davis, C.J. Loving; his ex-wife, mother of his children and best friend Arlene Votaw; and many more close and extended friends and family members.

There will be a celebration of Jeff’s life on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 2pm at New Prospect Baptist Church with Pastor Doug Turner officiating, those in attendance are welcome to attend the reception following the service.
