Thomas Mack Johnson

Thomas Mack Johnson, 73, of Spencer, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Moses Cone Hospital, in Greensboro, North Carolina. Born on March 12, 1951, in Meade, West Virginia, he was the son of the late William Glen Johnson and Pauline Fares Johnson Bray. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Gavin Kidd, and his sister, Margaret Hatcher.

Thomas retired as a security guard with Warren Trucking. His world centered around his children and grandchildren, always cheering them on and offering unwavering support. He loved watching old westerns and was known as a kind, generous soul who was always ready to lend a hand.

He is survived by his wife, Sally Jane Jinright; his son, Stacy Johnson (Lori); two stepdaughters, Jennifer Weiner (Bill) and Rebecca Kidd (David); three grandchildren, Anthony Johnson (April), Erica Johnson, and Ethan Price; three great-grandchildren, Annabelle Johnson, Kasen Johnson, and Liam Johnson; his sister, Dorothy Cash; his brother, Jim Wilson (Margie); his brother-in-law, William Hatcher; and special friends, Richard Gauldin, Nathan Jackson, and Ricky Sigmon, along with many other cherished family members and friends.

A floating visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, between the hours of 2pm and 4:30pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Huddleston Church of God of Prophecy in Lynch Station, Virginia, officiated by Pastor Wayne Murphy. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Huddleston Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery.
