Thomas Russell Mountcastle

December 4, 1959 - July 25, 2026

Thomas Russell Mountcastle passed away on July 25, 2026, leaving behind cherished memories of a life filled with simple joys, lasting friendships, and devotion to those he loved.

A graduate of Salem High School, Tommy proudly played football during his school years, where he developed the determination and team spirit that would remain with him throughout his life.

Tommy honorably served his country in the United States Army, a service that reflected his commitment and patriotism. Following his military service, he worked for Graham-White in Salem and later for Thor Construction in Salem, where he was known as a dependable and hardworking employee.

In his free time, Tommy found great enjoyment in collecting NASCAR memorabilia, spending weekends searching for treasures at yard sales and flea markets, and sharing his love for pugs. He appreciated life's simple pleasures and the friendships he made along the way.

Tommy was affiliated with First Christian Church in Salem.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Mountcastle; his mother, Lee Mountcastle; and his brothers, Charley Mountcastle and Russell Mountcastle.

Left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Steve Mountcastle and his wife, Rita, and Mark Mountcastle and his wife, Wendy, along with several beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Mike Beamer, Tommy's dear friend, whose kindness, friendship, and unwavering support over many years meant so much to Tommy and to those who loved him.

The family will hold a private celebration of life service.

Tommy will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his unique interests, and the many lives he touched through his friendships and quiet acts of kindness. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
