Thomas "Tommy" Dean Kingsbury

Mr. Thomas “Tommy” Dean Kingsbury, age 80 of Mount Airy, passed away early Tuesday morning, February 20, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Kingsbury was born in Surry County to the late Robert Thomas and Naomi Quesinberry Kingsbury. Tommy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, whom served many years as a pastor. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Barbara Leftwich Kingsbury; a daughter and son-in-law, Sarah Kingsbury Carson and husband, Tony; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Kingsbury, Jr. and wife Angela; grandchildren, Reid and Amanda Vernon, Garrett and Rachel Vernon, Jessica and Tyler Pennington, Aleigha Kingsbury, Adrianna Kingsbury, Garrett Cannoy; a special grandson, Andy Harrison; nine great-grandchildren, a sister, Debra Kingsbury Cecil, of Concord; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kingsbury was preceded in the death by a grandson, Gabriel Kingsbury; great-grandchild, Remy Vernon; three brothers, Robert Raymond Kingsbury, John Eugene Kingsbury, and William Grady Kingsbury. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Reverend Russell Vass and Reverend Emmett Crotts officiating. Interment will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, February 21, 2024, at Moody Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has be entrusted with the arrangements.
