Timmy "Tim" Ellison Payne Sr.

Timmy “Tim” Ellison Payne Sr., 73, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2026. Tim was born in Danville VA on May 2, 1953 to the late Chaney Gibson Payne and the late Benjamin Hill Payne Jr.

Tim was of the Christian Faith. He worked for many years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, previous to his retirement.

Tim is survived by two sons; Timmy E. Payne Jr. (AnJanette H. Payne) and David Payne (Kristy Davis Payne) both of Dry Fork, VA; a brother; Bink Payne (Betty) of Dry Fork, VA; a sister; Page Stowe (Bo); four grandchildren; Cody Payne, Chase Payne, Trae Walker, and Kayleigh Mazza; a great grandson; Trae Walker Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends.

In addition to his parents, Tim was predeceased by a brother; Rick Payne; a nephew; Brandon Stowe; and sister in law; Jackie Payne.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be conducted on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 10:00am at the Payne Family Cemetery, 2380 Hutson Road, Dry Fork, VA 24549, with Pastor Walter Yancey officiating. The visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026 from 2-6:00pm at the residence of his son and daughter in law, Timmy and AnJanette Payne Jr.
