Todd James Woods

Todd Jerome Woods, 43, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. He was born April 7, 1983, in Roanoke, Virginia, to Claude Donnell Woods and Cynthia Easley Woods.

Todd was preceded in death by his brother, Claude Antonio Woods “Antman; his maternal grandparents, Sam and Roxi Easley; and parental grandfather, James Woods.

Todd was a 2001 graduate of Bassett High School. He worked as a material handler with Green Company, where he was known for being hardworking and skilled with his hands.

Todd had a true passion for old cars and especially enjoyed fixing them up and bringing them back to life. He loved listening to old-school music and had a special interest in drag racing. Gifted and creative, Todd was very talented when it came to customizing cars and working with his hands. Whether repairing, restoring, or adding his own personal touch, he took pride in what he could create. More than anything, Todd will be remembered for the relationships he shared with his family and those closest to him.

He is survived by his parents, Claude Donnell Woods and Cynthia Easley Woods; three daughters, Veleryia Nowlin “Sky”, Roxi Woods, and Sariyah Woods; two sons, Todd Jerome Woods, Jr. “TJ” and Dai’qwaun Preston ‘manman”; one sister, Lakeisha Watkins (Tyrone); grandmother, Mary Inez Woods; five grandchildren, Enelayah Espana, Kingston Espana, Princeton Espana, Amir Preston, and Ava Preston; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 12:00 Noon at The Oak Level Chapel of Wright Funeral Service – Bassett. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Hairston Family Cemetery.
