Tonya Renee Hawks

Tonya Renee Hawks, 47, of Salem passed away on August 11, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family.

A native of Virginia she was the wife of Gary Hawks, who survives, and the daughter of the late Ralph Martin and Phyllis Way Baker, who survives. She worked for Rowe Furniture for 11 years. Tonya enjoyed volunteering with the Craig County Rescue Squad. She also enjoyed floating downriver and kayaking, riding on the parkway, and hiking to different waterfalls. More than anything Tonya enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband who she was with for 15 years and her mother those left to cherish her memory are her six children, Samuel Hawks, Michael Hannah (Rosie), Jon Sifford, Chloe Caldwell (Cody), Kirstin Spano (Timothy) and Halie Watkins; four grandchildren, Rachel, Sarah, Evelynn, and Brayley; brother, Vernon Martin; and sister-in-law, Teresa Lee.

The family will receive friends at CommUNITY Church in Salem on Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.

A funeral service will be held at CommUNITY Church in Salem on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 11:00 am with Pastor Thomas McCracken officiating. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.
