Tyler Anthony Scott Gunnell

Tyler Anthony Scott Gunnell, 22, of Axton, VA passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. Tyler was born September 4, 2000, to Shannon Scott Gunnell and the late Anthony Wayne Gunnell. In addition to his father, he was also predeceased by his grandfather, Charles Gunnell.

Tyler will be remembered as a loving son, brother, and friend to many. He enjoyed working, reading, and playing video games with his online friends. He was also very kind and helpful to those in need.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Jacob Gunnell (LeeAnna); sister, Angel Knoell (Brandon); grandparents, David and Pam Ellis, Mike Scott (Norma), and Jeanne Scott; stepfather, J.R. Turner; a nephew; and numerous aunts and uncles.

A graveside funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Highland Burial Park with Pastor Jared Austin officiating. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence of grandparents, David and Pam Ellis.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Habitat for Humanity, 2805 Riverside Drive, Suite J, Danville, VA 24540 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
