Velva Marie Linkous Woolwine

October 10, 1932 - October 12, 2026

“Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?” – James 2:5 Velva Marie Linkous Woolwine, 94, of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 12, 2026, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. She was born in Merrimac, Virginia, on October 10, 1932, to the late Evans and Ella Linkous. Marie lived a life of quiet simplicity and faithfulness in the Christiansburg community for many, many years. She and her late husband, Randy, were faithful, longtime members of East Radford Church of God. A woman of deep and gentle devotion, Marie was steadfast in daily prayer for her family, friends, and everyone blessed to be connected to her. Marie will be most remembered for her kind and loving spirit, her fun-natured sense of humor, and above all, her unwavering love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whom she now sees face to face. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Randy Woolwine; her son, Thomas Allen Davis, Jr. (“Ricky”); her grandsons, Andrew Davis and Jason Davis; her brother, Basil Linkous; and her sisters, Betty Jo Dowdy and Shirley Linkous. Her memory will be forever cherished by her family: her son Darryl Davis and his wife Tina; her step-son Randolph Woolwine (“Billy”) and his wife Jo; and her daughter-in-law Denise Davis. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her grandchildren: Erin Keiningham, Evan Davis (Brandy), Brandon Davis (Brianna), Justin Davis (Morgan), Heather Harris (Brady), and Mason Davis; as well as her great-grandchildren: Stella and Nash Keiningham; Paige, Skylar, and Rylee Davis; Xander and Colsen Davis; Asher and Felicity Davis; Beckett, Eisley, Jude, Millie, and Wells Davis; and Aayla Harris. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 1pm at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg, with Pastor Poston officiating. Arrangements are being handled by McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg.
