Vera "Baba" Jaquith

Vera “Baba” Jaquith, age 91 of Chatham, VA passed away Friday, January 19, 2024 at her residence. She was born August 22, 1932 in Harbin, China to the late George Bazhonov and the late Zoia Osokina Bazhonov. She was married to the late Melvin Jaquith.

Her favorite chapter in the Bible was the Twenty-third Psalm. She will always be remembered as a kind and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great-grandmother, and friend to all who knew her.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda “Dove” Newberry of Chatham; one son, Robert Jaquith (Teresa) of Georgia; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Susan Jaquith.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her son, George Jaquith, and her stepdaughter, Patricia Johanson.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
