Verlinda Kaye Weddle
Verlinda Kaye Akers Weddle, 83, of Roanoke, VA, went home to be with the Lord on October 28,2026. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and had retired from Barbara’s Beauty Shop. Kaye loved her family dearly. She was such an inspiration to her daughters by showing them how to live their lives by loving others and being an example to other people of God’s love for us. She enjoyed being creative and making crafts for family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William Henry Weddle and her parents, Ralph and Mabel Gibson Akers, brother, Buster Akers.
Surviving family includes daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Albert Mitchell, Jr., Patricia and Johnnie Jeffries, and Melissa and Doug Light; grandchildren, Nickie and Allen Rogers, Jeremy Mitchell and Matthew Jeffries; great-grandchildren, Taylor Bell and Michael Rogers; sister, Nancy Childress, nephews and nieces.
Mom always put everyone before herself always! She enjoyed listening to Pastor Peter Touchstone and kept up with everything and everyone through the Fellowship Baptist Church bulletin. She would always ask how each person at the church was doing. Our mom was a prayer warrior for many people she knew and didn’t know. Mom loved the Lord Jesus Christ because he first loved her. He purchased her pardon on Calvary’s Tree. Kaye will be deeply missed but we all know we will see her again one day.
