Verna Annette Conner
Verna Annette Conner, 75, of Salem, entered into the gates of Heaven and into the welcoming arms of her Heavenly Father, on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from Lewis Gale Medical Center.
Annette was born on July 21, 1947, to the late Samuel and Helen Arnold; she is also preceded in death by her brothers, Woodie and George Arnold, as well as her great-grandson, Graham Robert Hoffert.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Larry Conner; daughters, Teresa Dixon and bonus son, John Dixon, and Traci Karnes and bonus son, Robert Hoffert; mother-in-law, Bertie Conner; grandchildren, Joshua and Amanda Dixon, Samuel Hoffert and Jordan Nail, Jordan and Dustin Cash, Christopher Karnes and Hannah Bowles, Nicholas Karnes and Ashley Zaronsky, Hannah Donavan, Jonah Weiner, Michael Hoffert, and Cari and Daphne Abner; great-grandchildren, Maddie Jane Hoffert, Jace Conner Dixon, Joshua Lincoln Dixon, Harper Annette Cash, and Quinn Olyvia Hoffert; sisters-in-law, Marsha Conner, Maxine Arnold, Paulette Arnold, Gloria (Danny) Mounts, and Shelva Spence; brother-in-law, Ricky (Freda) Conner, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will welcome friends on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Ken Nienke officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
