Virginia "Ginny" Fowler

Virginia “Ginny” Fowler, 81, Bedford, passed away on January 7, 2024 at Bedford Hospice House. She was born on Tuesday, September 8, 1942 in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of the late Merle Edward Durst & Freda W. Blacka Durst. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Norman Richard Fowler.

Virginia was an active member of Main Street United Methodist Church participating in the choir, handbells, and United Methodist Women. She sang in a quartet for several years. She retired as an insurance agent from Nationwide Insurance after 15 years of service. Virginia also volunteered at the Bedford Public Library and with Bedford Hospice.

She is survived by her son, Todd R. Fowler (Taffy); daughter, Brenda F. Patterson (Kevin); grandchildren, Chase Peters, Lindsay York (Ethan) and Kyle Patterson; great-grandchildren, Wyatt & Amelia York and sister, Peggy Kasian, of Pittsburgh, PA.

The family expresses their sincere appreciation to the staff of Bedford Hospice House for their excellent care.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Main Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Dawn Compton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
