Virginia Greer Hodges

Virginia Greer Hodges, 94, of Bassett, Virginia, peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart, Virginia. She was born on May 2, 1930, in Franklin County, Virginia, to the late Harry Hodges and Oveda Greer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Hodges; son, Michael Hodges; daughter, Tracy Blackard, and seven brothers; and six sisters.

Virginia retired as a Certified Nursing Assistant from Stanleytown Health & Rehabilitation Center. A dedicated member of Fort Trial Christian Church, she took great pleasure in gardening, singing, and reading. A true Bible scholar, her faith was at the center of her life. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her beloved family.

She is survived by her one son, Mark Douglas Hodges (Paulette) of Kitty Hawk, NC; one daughter, Patricia H. Turner (Charles) of Bassett; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Carolyn Lyman of Lexington, NC; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A private family memorial service will be held on December 14, 2024, at 2:00pm at County Line Church of God of Prophecy Fellowship Hall.
